Migrate from Obsidian
Your vault's folders, wikilinks, and graph: imported in one folder upload into the workspace Knowledge Base, live-collaborative, agent-readable.
What moves
| Obsidian | In idapt | How |
|---|---|---|
| Vault folders + markdown files | The Knowledge Base, with the same folder treeNote titles are unique per workspace. Two same-named notes in different folders collide (one gets skipped; rename and re-import). | Automatic |
| [[Wikilinks]] + backlinks + graph | Native: links resolve across the whole Knowledge Base, backlinks and the force-directed graph are built in | Automatic |
| Images & attachments | Not part of the text import yet; upload them to Drive alongside | Planned |
| Plugins / Canvas / Dataview | No equivalentAgents + tools cover many plugin jobs (templating, TODO extraction, dataview-ish queries). | No equivalent |
How to migrate
- 1
Open Knowledge
Open the Knowledge tab in your workspace (one Knowledge Base per workspace: your vault joins it).
- 2
Import the vault folder
Use the Knowledge sidebar's "Import folder" button and pick your vault directory. The folder hierarchy is recreated and text files become notes.
- 3
Check the graph
Wikilinks resolve immediately; the graph and backlinks panel show your structure. Full-text search and Cmd+K cover the Knowledge Base.
FAQ
What are the limits?
Notes are capped at 256 KB each and 2,000 per workspace, with a per-workspace Knowledge quota (10 MB free, up to 5 GB on Max). Big vaults may need a plan bump. The import fails clean with a clear message, never half-written silently.
Can I get my notes back out?
Yes. The Knowledge Base exports as a ZIP of markdown keyed by folder path. Easy in, easy out.
