How you authenticate

API key
Get an API key
  1. Create a Power-Up to get an API key, then generate a token from it.
  2. Trello takes both as query parameters. The `key` goes in every request URL alongside the injected `token`.

Common endpoints

who am IGET /members/me?key={key}
list boardsGET /members/me/boards?key={key}
list cardsGET /lists/{id}/cards?key={key}
create a cardPOST /cards?idList={id}&key={key}

Worth knowing

  • Auth is a QUERY parameter pair (`key` and `token`), so the URL itself is secret-bearing. It is never logged.
  • You must supply `key` yourself in the query; only `token` is injected.
