Subscription or pay-as-you-go: what's the difference?

Usage itself is billed in credits from your balance — credits are buyable by any signed-in account, at the same prices for everyone, shown in the app before you run anything. Free daily usage covers the everyday lane when your balance is empty.

What do credits cost?

Model calls are billed at the prices shown in the app, with no markup. Computers and code execution carry the cost of running the hardware. Top-ups carry a 5% top-up fee ($0.50 minimum) that covers payment processing, shown before you pay.

What happens when my balance is empty?

You fall back to free daily usage on everyday models — it resets each day and never retires. Paid models and paid tools ask you to add credits. And failed runs aren't billed: a reply that fails before producing anything costs $0.

Is there a free option?

Yes. Free accounts get free daily AI usage (about $0.25 of compute a day) that resets every day. It covers chat on everyday models plus free image, code, and audio variants. One credit top-up unlocks every model, permanently. You can also run Private AI on your own computer, free.

How does the free trial work?

Pro starts with a 7-day free trial with everything the plan includes. A card is required and nothing is charged during the trial. Two days before it ends we email you the exact date and amount, and your billing page shows the countdown throughout. Cancel any time before it ends and you pay nothing; do nothing and the plan simply continues. One trial per account.

How does cloud computer time work?

Cloud computers bill credits per second while running, at the size's hourly price shown before you create one; larger machines cost proportionally more. When your balance runs out the computer pauses automatically and your containers are kept safe, resuming where they left off when you top up. Every free account also gets a daily free session on the smallest computer, funded by your free daily usage. GPU computers bill credits too — no plan required.

Can I run models on my own computer?

Yes. Private AI runs open models on your own computer via Ollama: 1,000 requests per month free, unlimited on paid plans.

Can I pay for my whole team?

Yes. A team shares one subscription: pick Pro or Max, and every workspace the team owns bills to it, with pooled included usage, central billing, invoices, and a team-wide monthly budget. Enterprise adds custom contracts and higher limits; contact sales.

Unused credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase. Consumed usage and elapsed subscription time are not refundable.
