How it works

  1. 01

    Share your link

Your personal link is on the Referrals page inside the app. Send it to someone who would use idapt, or invite them by email.

  2. 02

    They subscribe

They get $20 off their first paid month. You get a one-time gift: $50 for a Pro subscription, $200 for Max.

  3. 03

    You earn on every renewal

Commission on what they pay, every month they stay: 25% to start, 30% once you have passed 10 referred subscriptions.

  4. 04

It vests, then you cash out

Commission becomes payable 14 days after the payment - the refund window. Once your available balance clears $250 you can cash out into your bank through Stripe.

What that is actually worth

Commission is a share of what your referrals pay, so it follows the plans. At today's prices, a referred Pro subscription pays you $49.75 a month and a Max subscription pays $247.50 a month - every month they stay.

  • One referred Pro subscription$49.75 / month
  • Ten of them, past the tier step-up$59.70 each / month
  • One referred Max subscription$247.50 / month
  • Referrals to clear the payout floorabout 6 Pro subscriptions

A dozen Pro referrals paying ~$497.50 a month is roughly $5970.00 a year, and it keeps accruing for as long as those subscriptions renew.

The honest parts

  • Money only becomes payable after the refund window ( 14 days ), because we might have to give it back.
  • A refunded subscription claws its commission back. A cancellation does not: you keep what was earned on the payments they made.
  • Payouts need a Stripe payout account and must clear $250. Until Stripe has verified you, the money cannot be sent.
  • One payout request can be open at a time, so an operator never has to reconcile two overlapping payments for one person.
  • Payouts are income to you, and declaring them is your responsibility.

Questions

Why is the money not available immediately?

Commission becomes payable 14 days after the payment that produced it. That is the refund window: money we might still have to give back is not money we can pay out.

What happens if my referral refunds or cancels?

If a payment is refunded, the commission it produced is reversed. Anything already available stays available, and a cancellation simply stops future accruals - the commission already earned on payments they did make is yours.

How and when do I get paid?

You ask for a payout from the Referrals page once your available balance clears $250. The first time, Stripe collects your identity and bank details on their own onboarding page; after that the money is sent to your bank through Stripe. We cover the Stripe fees.

Why do I need to set up a payout account?

Because Stripe is the one paying you, and Stripe has to know who it is paying. Until Stripe says you can be paid, the payout button cannot send money - that is Stripe's rule, not ours.

Is there a cap on what I can earn?

No. There is no ceiling on referrals or on commission. The only limits are practical: one payout request can be open at a time, and the balance has to clear the floor in whole dollars.

What if I stop referring?

Nothing already earned is lost. Commission keeps accruing on the subscriptions you referred for as long as those people stay, and everything vested remains payable.

Are payouts taxable?

Payouts are income to you. We do not withhold tax, and declaring them is your responsibility where you live.

Referrals at volume

If you run a newsletter, a community, a course or a channel and you want to work with us properly, the terms are the same - the same commission, the same vesting, the same payouts - and you get a person to talk to instead of a dashboard. Tell us what you have in mind and we will set it up.
