API key
- Create a service account with the BigQuery roles you need and download its JSON key.
- The JSON key is not a bearer token: exchange it for one, or run `gcloud auth print-access-token` on a computer.
- The simplest reliable path is the CLI lane with `bq` on a computer.

Common endpoints
| run a query | POST /projects/{projectId}/queries |
| list datasets | GET /projects/{projectId}/datasets |
| list tables | GET /projects/{projectId}/datasets/{datasetId}/tables |
Worth knowing
- A service-account JSON must be exchanged for an access token; it is not itself a bearer credential.
- Query results come back as typed rows with values as strings; cast on the client.
- Jobs can complete asynchronously; poll getQueryResults when jobComplete is false.
