API key
- Open Settings, then Integrations, then Private apps, and create one.
- Grant only the CRM scopes you need; HubSpot 403s per-scope rather than per-object.
- Copy the access token. Legacy hapikey query auth is retired and will not work.

Worth knowing
- The legacy `hapikey` query parameter is fully retired. Only bearer tokens work.
- Properties are NOT returned by default; ask for them with `?properties=email,firstname`.
- Search is POST /crm/v3/objects/{type}/search with a filterGroups body, not a GET query.
