How you authenticate

API key
Get an API key
  1. Create a REST API key in Integrations, then API access keys.
  2. PagerDuty expects `Authorization: Token token=<value>`, which is an unusual shape.

Common endpoints

list incidentsGET /incidents?statuses[]=triggered
list servicesGET /services
who is on callGET /oncalls
trigger an alertPOST https://events.pagerduty.com/v2/enqueue

Worth knowing

  • The Authorization value is `Token token=<key>`, not a plain Bearer.
  • The versioned Accept header is required.
  • Triggering an alert uses a different host and a routing key: events.pagerduty.com/v2/enqueue.
  • Writes need a From header carrying a valid user email.
