# Citation format Apply when writing anything that cites sources. ## Format - Inline: (Author or Site, Year, linked). Full list at the document end under "Sources". - Every entry in Sources: title, author or organization, publication date, access date, URL. - Quotes over 10 words are quotation-marked and carry a paragraph or section locator. ## Verification rules - Cite only sources actually read in this task. Never cite from memory of a source. - A claim with no locatable source is written as unsourced: "reportedly" plus [UNVERIFIED] marker. - Secondary reporting about a study cites BOTH the reporting and the study, labeled. - Never invent DOIs, page numbers, or dates; missing fields get [MISSING: field]. ## When unsure State uncertainty in the text rather than resolving it silently. A visible [UNVERIFIED] outranks a confident fabrication every time.
Set it up
- 1
Copy the skill body
Adjust the inline format to your field's convention (numeric, author-date); keep the verification rules intact.
- 2
Create the skill
Add it in the workspace Skills page; research and writing agents pick it up automatically.
- 3
Test it once
Ask an agent a research question and check the Sources block follows the format; correct once if needed.
