How this is computed

Capability is the Epoch Capabilities Index at each model's peak reasoning tier; price is the blended list price per 1M tokens at a 3:1 input:output mix. A model qualifies when its index sits within your chosen tolerance of the current model and its blended price is lower. The index is a broad fit over 50+ benchmarks, not a task-specific guarantee: verify picks on your own prompts, side by side.
