Model tabs let you see how different AI models respond to the exact same message. After the AI answers, you can request additional responses from other models. Each one appears as a tab above the message.
This is great for finding the model that best fits your task, whether you care about accuracy, writing style, or level of detail.
Send a message and wait for the AI to respond.
Click the Reprompt... button (the refresh icon) at the right end of the tab row above the response.
Pick another model from the selector.
The new model answers the same message and appears as its own tab.
Add as many tabs as you like. Each model answers independently, so the responses can differ a lot. The button is disabled while a response is still generating, so wait for the current one to finish before adding another.
Each extra response is a separate generation and is billed like any other message, so a tab on a premium model costs what that model normally costs.
Regenerating a response, or reprompting with a different model, also creates a new tab rather than replacing the original. You keep every version side by side. See Editing messages and branching.
A tab from an Auto run is labeled Auto along with the speed tier it resolved (Fast, Smart, or Expert), so you can tell which setting produced it.
Click any tab to view that model's response. The tab label shows which model generated it, so you always know what you're reading.
Use model tabs when you're evaluating a new model. Compare it against one you already trust to see how it performs on your real questions.

This helps you make informed choices before starting a conversation. It's especially useful when you're deciding between models in a similar price range.
