idapt never trains AI on your content and never sells your data, and you decide who processes your prompts. Here's what idapt stores, who can see it, and the controls that keep you in charge 🔒
idapt stores your chats, messages, and files so your workspace works and syncs across devices. That data is used to provide the service to you, nothing else.
No AI training. Your content is never used to train AI models, not ours and not anyone else's.
No selling. idapt makes money from subscriptions and a service fee on credit top-ups. Your data is never sold or shared for advertising.
Protected by GDPR wherever it runs. idapt is a French company, so the GDPR follows your data everywhere. The application and your files run in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest, under Standard Contractual Clauses.

Only you, and the people you explicitly share a chat or file with. See Sharing and access control for how visibility works.
If you turn on your public profile page, it shows a few basics to anyone: your display name, avatar, the date you joined, and your subscription tier. See Your profile and public page.
When you send a message, it goes to the AI provider serving your chosen model, solely to generate the response. Most providers don't train on this traffic, many keep nothing at all, and some retain it briefly for abuse monitoring. For stricter control over who processes your prompts, run models on your own computer with Private AI.
Models installed on your own computer run there, so no third-party AI provider ever sees those prompts or replies.
Your workspace still lives in idapt: messages pass through idapt's servers to reach your computer, and chats are stored in your account so they sync across devices. They're never used for training. See Run models locally.
Analytics and marketing tracking are optional and off the moment you say so:

Necessary cookies (sign-in, security) are always on; they're what keeps your account working. The cookie banner offers the same choices.
Delete any chat or file whenever you want. Trashed conversations and files are permanently removed after 30 days; see Trash and deleted items. After deletion, data is kept at most 30 days for abuse detection, then permanently removed.
To erase everything, delete your account in Settings → Privacy → Delete account; see Account settings. For any GDPR request (access, export, erasure), email [email protected].
