Audit a YouTube channel

Titles, thumbnails and retention, judged the way the algorithm does.

Fill it in

Which one.

Title and thumbnail decide whether anything else matters.

What the outliers have in common.

Your prompt

Audit [the channel].

Packaging first, because nothing else matters until it works. Title and thumbnail
decide whether the video is watched at all, and a channel with excellent content
and weak packaging looks identical, from the outside, to a channel with nothing.

Find what the OUTLIERS have in common. Every channel has three or four videos that
did far better than the rest, and the pattern in those is the channel's actual
format, which is usually not the one the creator thinks they have.
Judge thumbnails at the size they appear, on a phone, next to the ones they compete
with. Three words maximum, one focal point, readable at 120 pixels.

Look at the first 30 seconds of the best and worst performers.
Use Audit a YouTube channelOpens with everything above already filled in.

Why this works

A channel with excellent content and weak packaging looks, from the outside, identical to a channel with nothing. This starts with the title and thumbnail, then finds what the outliers share.
