Writing

Write a patient leaflet

Plain language at a real reading level, in several languages.

Fill it in

What it explains.

Which to produce.

Aim for grade 6, and measure it.

Your prompt

Write a leaflet on [the topic]. Languages: es.

Write at about a sixth-grade reading level and MEASURE it. Health writing drifts
upward without anyone noticing, and a leaflet at grade 11 is not read by the people
who most need it. Short sentences, common words, and no clause stacking.
Answer the questions people actually have, in order: what it is, what happens next,
what I should do, what would mean I need help now, and who to call. The warning
signs section goes early, not at the end.

Translate rather than transliterate, and have the target-language version read as
though it was written in that language. Keep the reading level in every version.

No diagnosis and no dosing advice.
Use Write a patient leafletOpens with everything above already filled in.

Why this works

Health writing drifts upward without anyone noticing, and a leaflet at grade 11 is not read by the people who most need it. This targets grade 6 and measures it, in every language, and puts the warning signs early rather than at the end.
