Set quarterly objectives
Objectives with measures that can actually fail, and a plan under each.
Fill it in
The situation and what has to change.
Few enough to mean something.
Push back on anything that cannot be scored.
Your prompt
Set 3 objectives for the quarter. [your where you are] An objective is a change of state, and a key result is how you would know. "Improve onboarding" is neither; "a new team is running their first real workflow within a day" is an objective and "median time from signup to first workflow under 24 hours" is its measure. Reject anything that cannot fail. If there is no number and no date at which someone could say it did not happen, it is a theme, and calling it an objective makes the whole set unfalsifiable. Measure OUTCOMES, not activity. "Ship five features" is a plan disguised as a result, and it is achieved by shipping five things nobody wanted. Under each objective, the two or three things you will actually do. Then name what you are explicitly not doing this quarter to make room.
Use Set quarterly objectivesOpens with everything above already filled in.
Why this works
If there is no number and no date at which someone could say it did not happen, it is a theme, and calling it an objective makes the whole set unfalsifiable. This rejects those, measures outcomes rather than shipped features, and names what you are not doing to make room.
