Measure share of voice
Who is being talked about, where, and in what terms.
Fill it in
Which one.
Two or three, one per line.
A mention in a complaint is not a mention in a recommendation.
Your prompt
Measure share of voice for [your brand]. Against: [your rivals] Count mentions per source and say which sources you swept, because share of voice is entirely an artefact of where you looked. A sweep that includes one forum where a rival is popular produces a different answer than one that does not. Read the CONTEXT. A mention inside a complaint thread and one inside a recommendation are both mentions, and a report that totals them describes noise. Separate volume from reach. Ten mentions in a widely read publication are not comparable to a hundred in a small forum, and totals hide that entirely. Pull the actual quotes that characterise each brand. Those are more useful than the percentages.
Use Measure share of voiceOpens with everything above already filled in.
Why this works
Share of voice is entirely an artefact of where you looked, and a mention inside a complaint counts the same as one inside a recommendation. This says both.
