Basic starts with a 7-day free trial. You get everything the plan includes from the first minute, nothing is charged while it runs, and you can stop it at any point without paying ๐
A trial is a full Basic and up plan, not a limited preview. The same weekly included usage, the same models including Premium, the same storage and the same limits. Nothing is held back and nothing switches on later.
To see exactly what the plan includes, see Plans, allowances, and credits.
There is no separate trial button. Subscribing to Basic starts the trial automatically whenever you are eligible, so there is nothing to opt into and no cheaper path you can miss.
Open Billing from the account menu.
Choose Basic. The card reads Start 7-day free trial.
Enter your card. The checkout summary shows $0 today and the exact date of the first charge.
Your plan is live immediately, and Billing shows the countdown.
A card is required to start the trial. It is not charged during the trial.
At the end of the seventh day your card is charged the Basic monthly price and the plan continues normally. Two days before that, we email you the exact date and amount. Your billing page shows the same countdown the whole time.
That reminder is a billing notification and always reaches you. It cannot be switched off in Notifications, because it is the last notice before money leaves your account.
Open Billing and find Cancellation.
Choose Cancel before it charges, then confirm.
The page confirms the date your trial ends and that you will not be charged.
You keep full access until the trial's original end date, then move to the Free plan. Your chats, files and workspaces stay exactly where they are. Changed your mind? Choose Keep trial any time before it ends.
One trial per account. Once an account has started a trial, subscribing again goes straight to a paid plan and the card reads Get Basic instead. Pro and Max do not include a trial; they are available to subscribe to directly.
Billing belongs to your team account, so the trial is per billing account rather than per person. See Team billing.
