Build a flashcard deck

Cards from your own notes, importable into Anki.

Fill it in

What to make cards from.

What you are learning.

Roughly how many.

How to phrase them.

Your prompt

Make about 60 flashcards, A mix.

[your or a topic]
One fact per card. A card that asks two things gets half-remembered forever,
because the grading is binary and half-right counts as wrong.

Ask in the direction you want to recall. If you need to produce the term from
the definition, that is the card; the reverse is a different card and usually
not the one you need.

Skip anything you would recognise but never need to produce. A deck padded with
trivia is a deck that gets abandoned in week three.

Deliver a .apkg, plus a CSV in case they import it somewhere else.
Use Build a flashcard deckOpens with everything above already filled in.

Why this works

Most auto-generated decks fail because they pad with trivia and ask two things per card. Grading is binary, so a half-right card is a wrong card forever. This writes one fact per card, in the direction you actually need to recall, and skips anything you would only ever recognise.

Questions

How do I import it?
You get a .apkg for Anki, plus a CSV if you use something else.
From my own notes?
Yes, upload them. Or give it a topic and it builds from scratch.
